Acetal is another name of Polyoxymethylene (POM). It is a naturally white semi-crystalline thermoplastic and is used for producing precision parts which require high resistance to abrasion and heat, good dimensional stability, resistance to water absorption, low friction, and high tolerance to organic chemical compounds (e.g. hydrocarbons).
